Nicknamed "El Gato Maracana" and "winged cat" for his brilliant performance at the 1950 World Cup. In Brazil he was known as "O goleriro". He played without gloves. He was a record breaker, along with Valdes he has the joint most Zamora trophies for lowest ratio of goals conceded to games played in the season. The Club paid tribute to him at the Camp Nou on 06/03/62 and the Club itself and the BPA paid tribute to him again with Seguer on 06/04/13. He coached various teams but retired at the age of 42.
