Pichi is the nickname that his classmates from school gave him; it isn't short for Pichichi as has sometimes been said. He got a degree in Physical Education and Primary School Teaching. He was a coach, coach of Catalonia (1995-2004) and famed television commentator who worked for two decades on TV3 (1992-2012). He is remembered for his three goals in the semifinal of the European Cup in 1985-1986 against Göteborg that led to the amazing qualifying for the sad final in Seville. He was called up to the national team while playing in the second division, but he didn't make his debut until the next match, by that time he was playing in the first division.
