A hero of the Spanish team that won the first major international title at the European Championships in 1964. It was the first goal and the cross for the second goal that the State's news and documentaries producers manipulated. After retiring from playing football he became a coach, devoting most of his career to coaching youth teams in the Catalan and Spanish associations. He was coach of the Castilla y León senior team. Father of Jesús Pereda, who played unofficial games, and son-in-law of director Jordi Soler-Cabot.
