The Barça fans cheered him in the Plaza Sant Jaume, as the hero of the 1978-79 Cup Winners' Cup win. It served as a homage from the fans in the farewell of a much loved player. After retiring he became a coach, almost always working as an assistant, including a period in the Netherlands coaching staff.
