He was Barça's first league top scorer. His 5 goal haul was key to Barça beating Murcia in the relegation playoff and staying in the first division in Chamartin on 28/06/42. Only one week later, at the same ground, Barça won the Cup against Athletic, a game in which he scored a brace and Escolà scored the other. At the age of 25 he suffered a serious injury that ended his progression and left him physically depleted for the rest of his career. When he retired he owned, with Benito, a very famous sporting goods shop in Barcelona.
