Striker
Considered by many the best player ever, hepatitis and serious injury conditioned his career as a Barça player. The contract he signed in 1982 (1.200 million pesetas) was until then the most expensive in world soccer. After retiring he worked as a coach periodically. He was coach of Argentina (2008-2010). Popularly known as "el Pelusa", he has always been a controversial figure. Father-in-law for a while of another top Argentine player, Sergio "Kun" Aguero. Reverence for his figure reached its peak with the founding of a cult named the Maradonian Church.
