Andrés Iniesta is one of the best players that has grown in La Masia. Considered by many to be the best midfielder in the world. A native of Fuentealbilla, Albacete, he arrived at La Masia in 1996 after the Spaniard was one of the best players in the Brunete tournament (an historic U10 Spanish tournament). In the Masia one of his best friends was another legend of the club: Víctor Valdés. He stood out in each of Barça's youth teams until reaching the first team in the 2002-2003 season with Louis Van Gaal. But it was in the 2004-2005 season, with Frank Rijkaard, that Iniesta officially became part of the first team. From that moment until his departure in 2018, Andrés Iniesta's career grew as did the titles of the club's. His performances in matches such as the semifinals of the 2009 Champions League against Chelsea, where his goal gave Barça access to the 2009 Rome final, or his match in the 2018 Copa del Rey final against Sevilla are some of the great performances of his career. Not to mention the goal he scored in 2010 in the final of the World Cup in South Africa, thus giving the title of world champion to the Spanish team. Andrés Iniesta together with Xavi Hernández and Leo Messi revolutionized football from the mid-2000s until the end of the 2010s, consolidating themselves as the best in the world in 2010 where all three were part of the Ballon d’Or podium. In 2012 he won the UEFA Player of the Year award.
