He published the advertisment Los Deportes, which led to the founding of the club at Gimnasio Solé on 29/11/1899. He played in the first ever game on12/08/1899 as the team captain and in the second match scored the first goal for the new club. His goal to game ratio at the Club is second to none (2.35 per game, 123/54) and he also holds the record for goals in a single game, 9 (three times, on 10/02/01 and 17/03/01 in the Copa Macaya and on 01/02/03 in the Copa Barcelona). He was a complete sportsman who as well as playing football, participated in rugby, swimming, athletics and cycling. He founded FC Excelsior in Zurich. He was forced into exile after the events of Les Corts of 1925. The Club, which he saved various times from disappearing, paid a great tribute to him, along with by all of Catalan football on 25/02/23, and another posthumous tribute was made on 24/06/34. Both at the Les Corts ground. He has a street named after him in Barcelona.
