A very serious injury, sustained while playing a match during the annual celebrations of his village, cut short his splendid playing career. He coached Catalan teams and for 34 years ran the Camp Nou advertising hoardings and the stadium scoreboard. The Sant Joan de Vilatorrada Barça Supporters' Club bears his name.
